David Kiely is a partner at Danks & Danks who practices Family Law, CHINS and DCS cases, and Criminal Defense.

Former Judge David D. Kiely has over 35 years of experience within the Vanderburgh County legal system, first in private practice (1990-1997), then appointed as a Magistrate (1998-2009), and as elected Judge of both Superior (2009-2013) and Circuit Courts (2013-2025). As Judge, David Kiely created the first Veteran’s Court and co-founded the Vanderburgh County Therapeutic Work Release Program, both of which have become essential programs in the criminal court division. Beyond the bench, David Kiely has served on a myriad of committees, as President and Vice President of the Vanderburgh County Jobs Program, guest lectured at many local schools and universities and volunteered for innumerable programs in and around the legal field. David has been awarded the James Bethel Greshem Freedom Award and the Community Service Award from the City-County Observer.
